Performance Makeup & Hair Guidelines

Performance Guidelines

Read these guidelines BEFORE you come for performance!

STEP 1: BEFORE YOU COME, DO YOUR HAIR & MAKEUP
  • Hair: Hair Bun Instructions
  • Stage Makeup (Instructions at right)

STEP 2: PURCHASE AND WEAR TO THEATER (Label EVERYTHING with your name)
  • Pink tights and leotard (or color as specified for the performance), labeled with your name.
  • Black pants, labeled with your name.
  • Your studio jacket over (if you don't have a studio jacket, wear a zip-up jacket).
  • Nude briefs, if instructed for costume:
    Briefs for older girls
    Briefs for younger girls
  • Tennis shoes
  • Earrings: As specified

STEP 3: BRING TO THEATER
  • Extra pair of tights.
  • Dance shoes for the performance, as appropriate.
  • Water in a closed container.
  • Healthy lunch or snack if you will be taking a lunch or snack break. NO EATING IN OR NEAR THE COSTUMES!

STEP 4: AT THE THEATER
  1. Be prompt at call time (you will receive notifications when you need to be at the theater).
  2. Sign in with the person in charge when you get to the theater so we know you're there.
  3. Go to the bathroom before you put your first costume on!
  4. Put on your first costume and check your makeup and hair.
  5. Put all your personal items into your dance bag and put it away neatly.
  6. FOLLOW THE RULES:
  • No eating or drinking anything other than water in costumes. No candy. No gum. No drinks other than water. No food that will stain your hands, face, or costumes.
  • No sitting in tutus.
  • No leaving the theater between performances unless you are not performing again. Once you are there, you must stay there until your parent picks you up.

STEP 5: BEFORE YOU LEAVE THE THEATER AFTER PERFORMANCE:
  1. Hang up your costumes or give them to the person in charge backstage. DO NOT LEAVE COSTUMES OR PERFORMANCE ITEMS ON THE FLOOR.
  2. Gather all your personal items and put them into your bag, and take everything home with you.
  3. Sign out with the person in charge.
