Ballet Academy & Movement, the only dance studio invited to perform at the San Juan Capistrano 2021 Festival of the Butterflies, performed a wonderful program for up to 10,000 people on Sat., August 7 at the Los Rios Park in San Juan Capistrano.
Our performances attracted the largest crowds of the festival, and we made many new friends who came by for information and to purchase our butterfly wings and dance supplies. It was an absolutely splendid day!
Student performers were Hazel Bredthauer, Maggie Fife, Reagan Hancock, Emme Hottinger, Lucy Jungwirth, Kaydence Kint, Ally Loftus, Sydney Loftus, Amelie Manning, Alyssa Parrett, AJ Shields, Isla Snow, and Silvia Snow.
Professional dancers were: Shannon Quirk, a Southern California native, began her training with Orange County Regional Ballet, and earned a BFA at UC Irvine, then joined Madison Ballet. She is formerly with Ballet Tucson, and we are thrilled to have her as a ballet instructor at Ballet Academy & Movement. Hayley Denning is an Orange County native, graduate of Cal Poly, formerly with Orange County Ballet Theatre, California Ballet, and is certified in Pilates. Rachel Donaldson is in the Dance program at BYU and taking private lessons with Ms. Cobb; and Amanda Cobb (Founding Director, bio here).
