Courtney Lyall
Ballet, Jazz, Musical Theater, Tap
Courtney Lyall began dancing at the age of 6, and her first loves were ballet and tap. She started teaching tap 15 and added ballet and choreography for studio recitals for the next 7 years.
At 17, she jumped into the theater world, and danced in many shows around her hometown. Her two favorite performances were playing Dream Laurie in "Oklahoma!" and setting the original Susan Stroman choreography in "Crazy for You." She spent the next 5 years choreographing musicals for local theaters and high schools. |

She achieved her bachelors degree with a focus on early childhood education from Cal State Fullerton, and her Montessori certification from UC Irvine. She then taught preschool and became a stay-at-home mom.
But the dance passion never went away! In 2018, she again started teaching ballet to preschool and early elementary children, even teaching online zoom classes when everything shut down from Covid.
Courtney is thrilled to be back teaching (and taking classes) at BAM, and especially loves the opportunity to share the love of dance and performance with her daughter, who has fallen in love with dance!
